Alright, here's the deal. That background is nightmarishly blue. It's extreemly distracting to the comic (which also, has little happening from lack of movement, although I understand with Mario's lack of sprites). My main irk is, however, that your panels just have too much empty space. The comic could have been half as short and the joke wouldn't have suffered a tad.

Yeah, I fixed that.
I fixed that whole background thing in later comics (I do these ages before-hand), so it'll just be there for a few seconds longer.
As for lack of sprites, yeah it is annoying. Oh, also I've managed to get more going on in the comics later because the standard comic was shrunk down to 2*6 rather than 2*8.
